This one Daisyspecial edition brooch honors the memory of Margrethe II, former Queen of Denmark, and her 52 years on the throne. The brooch is made of sterling silver, is plated with 18 carat gold and is engraved with the date Queen Margrethe II abdicated: January 14, 2024. The design is based on a daisy brooch that Queen Ingrid wore at her wedding to King Frederik IX. After the birth of daughter Margrethe, later known as Queen Margrethe II, many Danish jewelers made daisy-shaped jewelry as gifts because Margrethe was nicknamed Daisy. This very motif served as the inspiration for Georg Jensen's long-standing and iconic jewelery collection Daisy.
