For Camilla and Björn, sustainability has always been a priority. Therefore it’s been important for both of them to create a brand that takes responsibility and can guarantee sustainable and environmentally friendly materials and production processes. The Earth’s resources are limited. What we do with these resources and how we can secure them for the future is therefore of the upmost importance. For CU jewellery, where the jewelry comes from and what it leaves behind is just as important as how the jewelry is designed.

Consumption is changing. Many consumers have become more conscious of their carbon footprint and now demand smarter and greener choices. CU jewellery is that choice. By caring for the Earth and constantly developing methods to minimize their environmental impact, CU jewellery is a brand of its time.

The jewelry is handmade in small editions by a skilled family in Tuscany, Italy. By moving their production to Italy, the company managed to reduce the transportation distance as well as assure the durability and quality of the jewelry. Since 2015 the company has produced jewelry out of recycled silver, however in 2018 they decided to take it one step further by collecting silver from end consumers.

By utilizing silver that is already in circulation, their environmental impact was drastically reduced. The idea is to create something new and beautiful out of jewelry with previous life. A piece that was once loved by a stranger can now be loved by you.
