- SIZE GUIDE - RINGS
We have a wide selection of rings and there are different ways to measure rings depending on the jeweller. Some jewellers such as Lily and Rose have one-size-fits-all rings. Efva Attling describes ring size by inner diameter (e.g. 18 mm), i.e. how wide the finger is. Georg Jensen measures it by inner circumference (e.g. 56 mm) - simply take a thread and wrap it around your finger and then measure how long the thread is. This will give you the circumference.
It's also possible to mathematically calculate one or the other. Simply multiply Pi (3.14) by the diameter to give you the circumference, or divide the circumference by Pi (3.14) to give you the diameter.
You can also order our ring sizer, which allows you to easily measure the circumference.
Bear in mind that your fingers can swell depending on the time of day. In the morning or when your hands are cold, the diameter/circumference is a smaller than in the evening. That's why it's a good idea to check at different times of the day. The fit can also depend on whether the ring has a straight or arched inner area. If the width is over 5 mm (0.2 inches) and the ring is straight, we recommend choosing a size that is 0.5 bigger (based on the circumference).
The table below will help you convert ring sizes.
